Recount text merupakan salah satu jenis teks yang intinya adalah menceritakan pengalaman serta kejadian kejaian di masa lalu dengan tujuan untuk memberikan informasi atau untuk menghibur pembaca, dimana recount text biasanya mempunyai struktur sebagai berikut ini:
Orientation
Orientation ini juga bisa di sebut dengan pengenalan dimana orientation dalam recount text ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi tentang siapa, dimana, dan kapan peristiwa atau kegiatan itu terjadi di masa lampau.
Events
Events adalah rekaman peristiwa yang terjadi, dalam penyampianya biasanya dalam urutan kronologis, seperti "In the first day, I ... . And in the next day ... . And In the last day ..." . Di bagian events ini juga biasanya terdapat komentar pribadi tentang peristiwa atau kejadian yang diceritakan.
Reorientation
Pada bagian reorientation, dalam recount text tahap ini merupakan tahap pengulangan pengenalan yang ada di orientation, pengulangan yang merangkum rentetan peristiwa, kejadian atau kegiatan yang diceritakan

The company was very active in caring for the less fortunate. They even put aside one day a year for their employees to do volunteer work to help the needy. They also donated money to many charitable organisations.
Many people had benefited from their efforts. Many also praised the company for being so generous towards the needy.

This morning with my hands full of bags, I went to the railway station to catch my train at 10:00.
I went there with a cab. To my surprise, when I just stepped my feet outside the cab, I could see a terrible beru huge crowd inside the railway station. As soon as I got myself into the crowd, I could smell millions of odor smells that were really horrible. I could not help myself to get rid of that because my hands were full with luggage. I just squeezed myself between two Chinese people and managed to pull myself out of the crowd onto the bridge to the railway station. I was luck as I have booked the ticked to Alor Seter. So I didn’t bother to queue up for a ticket.

My Day
I had a terrible day yesterday. First, I woke up an hour late because my alarm clock didn't go off. Then, I was in such a hurry that I burned my hand when I was making breakfast. After breakfast, I got dressed so quickly that I forgot to wear socks.
Next, I ran out of the house trying to get the 9:30 bus, but of course I missed it. I wanted to take a taxi, but I didn't have enough money.
Finally, I walked the three miles to my school only to discover that it was Sunday! I hope I never have a day as the one I had yesterday.
